Mame Dennis, a progressive and independent woman of the 1920s, is left to care for her nephew Patrick after his wealthy father dies. Conflict ensues when the executor of the father's estate objects to the aunt's lifestyle and tries to force her to send Patrick to prep school.
Editor's Verdict
"Auntie Mame is a classic film centered on the chaotic, independent lifestyle of Mame Dennis over several years. While it had a holiday release, there is no significant evidence within the plot description or standard knowledge of the film to suggest Christmas plays a substantial narrative, thematic, or visual role. The plot focuses on custody, lifestyle conflict, and Mame's evolution."
