Somewhere in Los Angeles, the city of broken dreams, a stripper is murdered. Now, the private detective she had hired and her ex-footballer boyfriend are going to find her murderer... if they don't kill each other first. But the more they dig, the deeper they become enmeshed in a web of extortion, blackmail and corrupt politics hidden beneath the surface of professional football.
Editor's Verdict
"The movie is famously set entirely during the Christmas season, which is a strong structural element. However, the primary genres (Action/Thriller) and plot focus (murder investigation, corruption) are entirely divorced from traditional Christmas themes. While the setting is strong, the lack of thematic or plot centrality places it firmly in the 'Christmas-adjacent' category, often referred to as a 'Die Hard Clone' that happens to be set during the holiday."
