In the post-apocalyptic future, reigning tyrannical supercomputers teleport a cyborg assassin known as the "Terminator" back to 1984 to kill Sarah Connor, whose unborn son is destined to lead insurgents against 21st century mechanical hegemony. "The Terminator is a high-stakes action/sci-fi thriller. While the events technically occur in October/November leading up to the holidays, Christmas has virtually no presence in the setting, plot, themes, or iconography. It does not meet the threshold for even marginal Christmas movie status."
